·         Disc Jockey – Rick Klein, Owner / Operator of Sophisticated Sounds will be your disc jockey / emcee. Rick has specialized in wedding receptions for over the last twenty years. He has personally preformed at over 1,800 wedding receptions in his career as a professional disc jockey. He has worked with the top wedding planners in Chicago, Milwaukee, Chicago Suburbs and Northwest Indiana. Rick can also act as your personal consultant with his experience to ensure a successful event. Sophisticated Sounds offers online planning for your event. The day of your event, all you have to do is show up and have a good time!  We will coordinate with the event center staff, photographer, videographer or any other special event services you may have planned. With our pre-planning information your event will be the event you have dreamed of!

·         Sound System – Over the last twenty years, we have used only the best brand names of equipment in the business: Bag End, E.A.W., Fender, Crown, Crest, QSC, DBX, MTX, Rane, Furman, B.B.E., and Shure to name a few. What we have learned from all of this is at wedding receptions, you want to have the music concentrated to the dance floor. The rest of the room needs the volume to be a level that your guests can talk over, so they are able to visit and enjoy themselves without screaming over the music. To accomplish this, we have embraced the latest technology that is available. We use JBL’s professional series of speakers; the new PRX series of speakers featuring the JBL VGC™ (Vented Gap Cooled) Woofer, Class-D built in Crown® digital amplifier to name a few features of these awesome speakers. JBL’s 40 years of technology really shows in the sound quality of this system. If that wasn’t enough to have great sounding speakers, we added the DBX DriveRack PX powered speaker optimizer. The patented advanced feedback suppression kills nasty feedback, allowing problem-free operation at high sound levels, while the patented subharmonic synthesizer extends bass responsive for enhanced bottom end. We also use a custom built DJRAK computer mixing system powered by IBM with three Rane mixers. Two Rane MP4 mixers with Serato sound cards and one Rane M82a main mixer. This is like mixing with four turntables. You can do some very creative mixing with this set up. Your guests will appreciate this great sounding system!

·         Light Show

You may ask yourself, do I want a light show. Sophisticated Sounds offers a light show to you at no additional charge. It has been our experience, that you will get better participation on the dance floor with some lighting. Some guests may be self-conscious about their dancing skills. In their mind the lighting acts as a distraction, so they do not think about their dancing abilities and then enjoy themselves on the dance floor.

Lighting Fixtures – We use Martin Intelligent Lighting that is computer controlled with LightJockey Software. We have custom programmed over 150 custom light shows. We can present simple and elegant to a night club look. We can also present static lighting looks with different colors and gobo (shapes). We choose the Martin Acrobat lighting fixtures because of their flexibility of 50 ever-changing and continuously moving color beams, flying color split and dichroic split colors + 5 white gobo patterns. We have the ability to do an all white light show if that is desired. We position the lighting fixtures on the speaker stands pointed up at the ceiling to create a great dancing atmosphere without shining lights into anyone’s eyes.

Pricing:

Our pricing is customized, based on requirements of Event, Event Center’s accessibility and distance to travel to location of Event Center.

·        Local Events to include the following towns / cities: Homer Glen, Orland Park, Joliet, Frankfort, Mokena starting at $995.00 for professional DJ service up to 5.5 hours for wedding receptions.

·        Events downtown Chicago will require a DJ assistant with travel / parking included will start at $1,295.00 for professional DJ service for 5.5 hours for wedding receptions.

·        Events over 5.5 hours will be charged an additional $100 per half hour

·        Non-Wedding Events call for pricing and availability.
